Just to say, there is seven pokemon not six
I think that Munna and Gear don’t even look like normal Pokemon, and Hihidaruma looks kind of scary. I wish that the Pokemon Team would make better Pokemon like the 1st and 2nd generation. Also, the number of “cutey” Pokemon has risen and I find that this is absurd – we do not need so many and Chiramii looks weird! Another example of a crazy new Pokemon is Lopunny. This is a game mostly for children (and some adults) but they need not be exposed to such things.

Well, I couldn’t wait for some pictures of new Pokemon and when I saw this I was astatic! The new games look really cool and some of the Pokemon look just as cool. A partiualy like the Grass type starter.

I like these new Pokemon. I think some show potential. Not a fan of Munna (pre-Drowzee anyone?) but I love Mamepato!! He’s so cute! He’s the obvious Pidgey/Starly/Taillow, but it’s very cute! If it’s got 3 forms and the last is super-bad ass, then I look very much forward to it!

heya wolf, i couldnt agree with you more. i really wish that the new generation of pokemon still even followed a similiar art style to the originals, but now, like you said, half of them are cutesy or just plain wrong, and the other half dont even look like pokemon, but rather that nintendo have just completely run out of ideas, and are now just using inanimate objects as inspiration…. i mean, rotom is plain and simple, several household appliances, and gears, well, its just a set of floating gears really. ill still give the fifth generation a chance, but i can just see pokemon getting worse and worse, and its really quite depressing, as younger generations of pokemon fans will never know just how brilliant pokemon used to be.
oh yeah, one more thing, whats up with mamepato?? we already have a pidgeon pokemon. its called Pidgey.

I don’t agree with you, Alex. Pokemon have alwayss been derived from weird inanimate objects or animals. What about Magnemite and Voltorb? Throughout the generations, there have always been cutesy Pokemon, which are fine, because we also get a variety of badass Pokemon to balance it out.
My problem is when they are so stuck for ideas, that they create unnecessary evolutions for some of our favourite Pokemon. For example, Magmar and Electabuzz’s final evolutions, or Blissey. Some of the baby Pokemon they throw in for good measure are annoying, too, like Happiny. I know that some new Pokemon are embarassing, but you have to understand, there are round about 500 Pokemon now. Of course they are going to get stuck for ideas, and begin to use different styles to influence new, unique looking Pokemon.
I just wonder how much longer until they have to end it. I mean, by the 4th Generation we got a Pokemon God. How much more Legendaries can they pull out from there?

i agree with you about the evolutions. although i think electivire is kinda cool, the other final evolutions added do spoil the original creations. especially as a good deal of them dont even resemble their de-evolutions, like magmortar, rhyperior, and magnezone =/
but yes, your are right, i imagine it is hard to keep coming up with original ideas. it just seems that a lot of the newer pokemon are all very round, chubby, cutesy, and its really obvious where the inspiration came from.
i think what made the originals so good was that although you could see what animals gave the creators inspiration, they werent obviously that creature, for example, kangashkan, derived from a kangaroo, but doesnt look anything like one. whereas, for the newer pokemon, Meguroko, derived from a crocodile, and looks exactly like one =/ i realise they must be struggling to keep finding inspiration though, so i guess i cant complain ^^;
ah yes, i was wondering that as well. they keep making each generation of pokemon stronger and stronger, but im not sure how they can keep doing that now theyve already achieved god status 0.o

I think the new pokemon are cute. I don’t agree with wolf or Alex. They’re idiots. I agree with Sandee, partially. I love the final evolutions of Magmar and Electabuzz. I’m amazed at all the ideas Pokemon Company has and I’ve been playing those game since it all began. I have at least one of every game line. Game Boy Color games included. Lopunny is very cute, and I don’t understand why people are saying bad things about it. It’s a very feminine Pokemon, sure, but there isn’t anything wrong with it. I just wish they could include in Black and White, A Quest Center. Where you can exchange Pokemon based on level, type, species, number of pokemon and maybe natures in exchange of Pokedollars. That and I want them to keep Kurt the Apricorn maker, Pokegear which is awesome and maybe throw in a non-normal element type cat-type pokemon.
Why do they have two abilities? Oh and I like the wolf Idea, cool…
heya raychal, i just want to point out, just because mine or Wolfs opinions differ to yours, it doesnt make us idiots. it just means we think about something differently. i guess the newer pokemon are just one of those issues where everyone going to have a different opinion. i two have loved pokemon since it first started, i just dont want to see it go downhill like so many other animes and cartoons, thats all.
the idea about the quest centre sounds pretty good, it could add an interesting element to the game, but i imagine a lot of people wouldnt like it as it could be seen as ‘catching pokemon just for money, and unfair on pokemon ect.’ but yes, i agree, kurt and the pokegear should stay, cos theyre awesome
I toto-aly disagree! Ok you want some ideas more like the 1st and 2nd generation, but the world is advancing the pokemon will come more advanced and complicated, whilst some getting a bit easier to understand(this barely makes any sense).
P.S. Alex they always have a normal-flying type in every generation pidgey,you could say hoothoot, tailow and starly.

yeah, i guess its just something i got to adapt to ^^; i do love all the old pokemon best, but things gotta keep changing i guess. but, about your point of getting easier to understand, ive started watching the old episodes recently, and does it seem to anyone else that the episodes are getting a little basic lately? i may well be wrong, but the older episodes just seemed more mature…. but again, i dont know for certain, i havnt had a chance to watch many of the newer episodes.
ps. yeah, i made a mistake about the pidgey thing ^^; i had thought pidgey was classed as ‘the pidgeon pokemon’ so we didnt need a ‘baby pidgeon’ pokemon, but its not, its a ‘tiny bird’ pokemon. my mistake ^^;

I love Chiramii and Mamepato(another pidgeon pokemon!?) but it looks like they are running out of ideas. i’ve been following (and playing)pokemon since the blue and red versions and monster design has gone dwnhill since the 2nd gen. I really hope that black and white will not be as bad as ruby and sapphire and we end up with a boring set of legendry pokemon like regirock registeel and regiice.:-(

Ya they are the Japanese names. Right now the English names haven’t been confirmed, only for Reshiram and Zekrom, the two cover Pokemon. Go check out Pokebeach.com or Serebii.net. They already have way more 5th Generation Pokemon revealed,like, Gochiruzeru, Rankurusu, Munna’s evolution, Musharna, and more.

the made a mistake theres actually 7 new pokemon and if u dont belive me then count 4 ur self
personally, i think that they have just ruined pokemon. these new pokemon look rediculus and more like digemon or bad cartoon animals, i’ll give credit to zorua and zoroark for looking like pokemon, some of the changes to gameplay and graphics i can cope with, but they arnt pokemon, there something else. i like new games, and i like new pokemon (i remember when ruby and saphiere were coming out…) but, these dont look like pokemon, its as if they have tried to modernise pokemon (and lets face it no modernisation ever works, and usually does the opposite), though saying that the 3rd generation of pokemon were designed alongside the 1st generation (at the very very least, kecalon was). to put it bluntly, i dont think im going to get these pokemon games (which will be a first as i have all of them,from red/green to platinum, heartgold and soulsilver, both pokemon rangers, coluseum, etc.)
