Japanese Wiis Showing Pokémon!

by the Pocket World team

Now here’s something that we would be over the moon if it were to arrive in the UK…

Japanese Wiis Showing Pokémon!Picture 67Owners of Japanese Wiis have a great new WiiChannel they can subscribe to called Wii no Ma. It’s a video streaming service that uses the Wii Wi-Fi connection to deliver video content through your console to the TV. If you’re hot on your Wii Channels in the UK, it’s similar to the way the new BBC iPlayer works over here – just click on the TV show you’d like to watch and up it pops!

Unlike the BBC iPlayer though, you have to pay to watch TV shows on Wii no Ma, but we think you would be willing to do this at the cost of 50-100 WiiPoints when you find out what is on offer. Japanese Pokémon fans can stream and watch lots of Pocket Monsters Anime episodes! All the episodes are from the Johto League stories, and we think this is an excellent use of the Wii’s abilities. Here the full list of what’s on offer, but sadly you won’t be able to access any of this from your UK Wii.

119… New Bark Town! Where Winds of New Beginnings Blow (English name: Don’t Touch That ‘Dile)
121… Collide! Heracross Vs Pinsir! (English name: A Sappy Ending)
128… Stubborn Chikorita!! (English name: Chikorita Rescue)
133… Violet Gym! Sky Battle! (English name: Fighting Flyer with Fire!)
134… Crybaby Marill! (English name: For Crying Out Loud)
136… Charizard Valley! Until We Meet Again! (English name: Charizard’s Burning Ambition)
143… I Got Cyndaquil! (English name: Good ’Quil Hunting)
144… Azalea Gym! Forest Battle! (English name: A Shadow of a Drought)
145… Pineco and the Apricorns! Mountain-side Battle! (English name: Goin’ Apricorn)
146… Azalea Gym! Slowpoke’s Well! (English name: Gettin’ The Bugs Out)
148… Wobbuffet and the Pokémon Exchange! (English name: Tricks of the Trade)
149… Burn Squirtle Squad! Like a Fire!! (English name: The Fire-ring Squad)
