
JanuaryA new Pokémon called Shaymin was officially unveiled this month, making it the 492nd Pokémon in the National Pokédex. Our Face Off website went live and melted down the internet server it was so popular! Over in Japan, the trailers for the 12th Pokémon movie were teasing about another new Pokémon – a notched-ear Pichu that is fond of eating Grepa Berries. In the mag we were watching Pokémon The Movie 2000 for old time’s sake!
February2009 was definitely the year for Platinum and this issue had pics and info on the new Pokémon Trading Card Game as well as English screens of the DS game. In Mew’s News we showed the bedroom of the ultimate Pokémon fan – full to the top with Pikachus!
MarchWe got our first look at Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky this month and put together a complete set checklist for the Platinum card game. There were rumours of new Pokémon game names trademarked by Nintendo too – Pokémon Black or Pokémon Scarlet anyone?
AprilAs we publish 13 issues a year, there were two in April and we took an in-depth look at My Pokémon Ranch on WiiWare plus squeezed in three pages of facts on Pokémon Platinum. This month we also launched our Ultimate Pokédex Bookazine – all 493 Pokémon and all the stats and pics crammed in to 212 pages. We had exciting new artwork of the final Pokémon in the current Pokédex too – Arceus was shown off in Mew’s News and Our Man in Japan was talking about Pikachu pants!
MayOur exclusive review of Pokémon Platinum was in the May issue – Nintendo launched the game in New York with a giant Pikachu! We also started our Platinum Expert Players’ Guide – the first of many parts! Our Man in Japan was eating Pokémon Beef Curry this month, while playing with a Mega Bloks Giratina. What a life, eh?
JuneWe brought you news of a Limited Edition Giratina DS Lite this month from Club Nintendo and told you how to get the Secret Key in Platinum. The ANA airline in Japan were trying out a new Pokémon themed hotel room and plane and we had the first exciting screens of HeartGold and Soul Silver.
JulySome great shots of HeartGold and SoulSilver this month, along with news of the PokéWalker device that allows you to download Pokémon and take them for a walk! We launched our www.pokemon-world.co.uk website with a big fanfare and had a big feature on Explorers of Sky. We also gave away free cress this month and showed you how to grow your own Torterra!
AugustThrough the summer the Pokémon Village Fete Summer Roadshow went around the country while we were writing about the Platinum Member Card Wi-Fi event. On our DVD player we were watching Jirachi: Wish Maker and brought you a full feature on this great movie. Over in the Pokémon Trading Card Game the World 2009 event was going on, and we had some real Hot Picks from Ditto, showing off the Shaymin cards from the Platinum expansion set. Professor Yew was answering all your questions, including more requests for info on the notched ear Pichu!
SeptemberArceus was officially announced by Nintendo in September, even though all us Pokémon fans already knew everything about the monster! There were exciting stills from the Arceus and the Jewel of Life movie too – and a poster! The HeartGold and SoulSilver logos were revealed for the first time, along with a screenshot showing a icy Pikachu mini-game to look forward to! PokéChat was full of great pics of the Pokémon Village Fete, and someone had made our cress Torterra – great stuff! We were looking forward to eight new Pokémon gameplay experiences with Pokémon Carnival, Pokémon Rumble and three new WiiWare Mystery Dungeon games to tell you about!
OctoberWe had loads of info on Pokémon Rumble this month, and we were enjoying watching the new HeartGold and SoulSilver TV ads. As it was Halloween, we brought you a Make and Do Pika-Lantern as a pumpkin alternative and the Pokémon Trading Card Game was moving on to the new Platinum Arceus expansion set while Battle Road Autumn was getting underway around the country. We were still busy playing Pokémon Platinum and writing the Expert Players’ Guide – the month it was all about the Battle Frontier. The Great Pokémon Moment was when Mewtwo first appeared in the cartoon series!
NovemberWe revealed all the new locations in HeartGold and SoulSilver this month, and showed you the new PokéGear. We spotted the director of the 13th Pokémon movie – Kunihiko Yuyama – scouting for movie locations in Holland and Belgium and in Japan our man loved the new Pikachu golden trophies you could send to someone as a reward. There were also exciting pics of a new Wii game called PokéPark and we had lots of exciting stuff of Explorers of Sky.
DecemberAnd that brings us bang up to date. It’s been a brilliant year for Pokémon – so many videogames to play and trading card expansion sets to collect plus the brilliant Pokémon Village Fete in the summer. You should be excited about Pokémon for 2010 too with lots of new Wii games planned, along with HeartGold and SoulSilver for DS. I agree, with heart gold/soul silver coming in march 14th and the pokepark wii debut, not forgeting anover expansion of the pokemonplatinumTCG. I can’t wait!!!
Yea 2010 should be good especially if we get the new Pokmemon series on top of that and also some DVDs – but we’ll have to wait and see what happens and I’m hoping Pokemon will offer me a break from my incessant exams

I liked Febraury’s issue but i lost it but it had a game that i owend for Christmas this year and the console i wish had it agian!
